Everyone can make a mistake and everyone will make a mistake, lots of them to be honest. It’s only human and it forms us. You learn a lot from facing the consequences of a mistake, especially when you share your mistake and openly talk about it with the people who were impacted by it.
This reminds me of what my Mother used to say. You will never learn anything when you ignore the mistakes you made but you will also not learn anything when others ignore the mistakes you made. Listen to them when they talk about your mistakes, step away from your pride and pay close attention.
Unfortunately, that has become rather uncommon lately. “Let us move on” and “this is not the time to criticize” are popular responses when addressing a mistake. Analysts and critical thinkers are depicted as part of the problem. No lesson was ever learned from ignored mistakes!
